My favorite has always been Beauty and the Beast ("La Belle et la Bete" by Madame Leprince de Beaumont). Since its conception, many, many different incarnations of this classic theme have appeared in books, movies and just about every genre of art. "Beast: A Prologue" is the beginning of my take on that old fairy tale. To me, the main themes of "Beauty and the Beast" always were first and foremost about love and inner beauty. But what would happen if love came first... and then tragedy? On what does love depend? Can it be more powerful than fear? Deeper than beauty? Also included with this 15-page story are two other original stories scripted and illustrated by their creators, Paul Adam and Stephanie Lostimolo! 48 pages altogether!
