Hey folks! Hope you saw Futurama last night! It was one of the two that I Assistant Directed on this season! You can see a clip from it on CC here.
San Diego Comic Con is coming up! AAAAAH! (July 21-24)
I’ll definitely be there from THURS-SUN, though there’s a chance I might be there on WED. Not sure yet.
There will be a Napoleon Dynamite panel as well as a Futurama panel! I know for sure the Napoleon one will be showing exclusive unseen footage! (part from one of my episodes actually!) Napoleon is at 2-3 on Thurs ROOM 7AB. Futurama is sometime on Saturday.
I’ll be sharing a booth this year again with Crystal (Haminal) and Derek (Marishi10) at G8, which is roughly in the 800 aisle section if I remember right! Please come see us! I’m going to have lots of stuff this year, including lots of prints and some of my previous sketchbooks.
But, I’m going to have some new stuff, too! I got my 2011 books in this week and they look goooorgeous!
8.25″ × 10.75″, 40 pages, full color, perfect bound! This is the largest format book I’ve ever done. 😀 It’s almost like a mini-poster print book.
It contains my favorite full color fanart and original pieces from around 2009-2011 as well as all of my Kaguya-hime pieces…
The first 100 books are numbered and signed by me with an original quick sketch in each one. If they sell well, I may do a on-demand reprinting (un-numbered, un-sketched, etc), but there’s no guarantee.
I’m also going to have some cute charms! You can use them as keychains and necklaces, etc. There about an inch, depending on the design. This is my first time doing charms like this, so I hope you’ll like them!
I’m not going to take any online sales for either until after San Diego Comic Con, likely mid August.
Thanks for your support! Please tell your friends, too!
I hope to see you at our booth!
The 11th Doctor (from Doctor Who) and the TARDIS (Idris) from my favorite episode of it’s season, The Doctor’s Wife by Neil Gaiman.
As usual, colored with COPIC markers and white Prismacolor pencil, drawn in graphite and composited with some minor editing in Photoshop.
You can also FAVE it on DA here.
You can see a few WIP images that I posted while working on it in my TWITTER.
Here are some Modern Disney Princesses designs I did for a never produced project!
A lot of work that we do in animation never sees the light of day. This is either because it’s preproduction artwork that gets honed into something else by the time the final image comes out, or because it’s a pitch or a pilot that never gets produced. A couple years ago (?) Kevin Hanna contacted me about doing some modern Disney princesses outfit designs, the basic idea would be, if the characters were modern girls, what would they wear. You can read more about the pitch and see some great concept work by Bengal and Becky Cloonan here on Kevin’s page.
Below are some Modern Disney Princesses outfit ideas I had for Cinderella, Ariel and Snow White. The characters of the girls were not exactly like the original princesses, just so you know. Anyway, I hope you enjoy seeing their outfits! I was inspired a lot by the Japanese fashion magazines I like to read like Kera and Cutie.
