I had a great time again at Dapper Day Disneyland!
Dapper Day is an unofficial themed dress up day at Disney parks where people dress up in vintage or vintage inspired clothing (largely from the 50’s). It’s in the Spring and the Fall in multiple parks.
Dapper Day has quickly become one of my favorite themed unofficial dress up days at the Disneyland park. Many people not only do vintage inspired outfits but they also combine this with Disneybounding which is adorable! It’s so much fun to see what people come up with. I basically feel like the price of admission is worth it just to see other peoples’ outfits!
The free Dapper Day Expo in the nearby hotel is great, too. You can find so many fun vintage or vintage inspired dealers in one place where normally you would have to drive all around LA to visit so many stores. Dapper Day also has adorable exclusives they make as well like parasols, pins and scarves.
I was really happy to have time this year to plan special matching handmade outfits for me and the twins. I made matching dresses for me and the twins out of lavender swiss dot. The pattern for my dress is Gertie Butterick B6322 and the dress pattern for the twins is 1950’s vintage revival Simplicity 8103 (which a was quite easy and fast make.) The dress pattern for mine was a little bit problematic, I had to do some bust length adjustments which was a bit tricky with all the gathering. I also wish I’d used a heavier interfacing on the middle section. But overall I’m happy with it!
One of the most awesome things about themed dress up days at Disneyland is the amazing outfits! Look at this gorgeous Tiana Dapper Disneybound! She has a lily pad fascinator and even has her Prince in her bag. What wonderful details she had!
An awesome Enchanted Tiki Room themed outfit complete with parrot appliqué skirt and Dole Whip ear fascinator! Her skirt had a beautiful texture, too.
I couldn’t stand how amazing this guy looked! His pastels were coordinated so beautifully even down to the color of the ribbon on his hat and the collar of his shirt.
Another gorgeous outfit! Wow! I really loved her amazing hat, her glasses and all her jewelry.
A beautiful coordinated family.
Absolutely loved these ladies’ outfits. I want those dresses and look how beautiful their hair and hats are!
Me and the twins visiting Daisy Duck!
There was also a dealers room / Expo with lots of cool vintage clothing, hats, pins and vintage inspired clothing like Re-mix Shoes and PinupGirl Clothing! I enjoyed seeing these new color ways of some PUG skirts! It was great to try on some of the Re-mix shoes in person and put a few on my wishlist. from PUG, I really want that new blue kitten print!
Beautiful Besame cosmetics booth! I sadly forgot to actually shop here, but bought some of their lipsticks when I got home. I really love the new Victory Red.
Epic suits! These guys were awesome dancers, too.
The twins had a grand time, too! Miss J really loves Chewbacca even though he’s so tall that he’s a little scary to little kids! Go Miss J!
This was the dance floor set up with the occasional live music and DJ’d music! The twins went back to the dance floor over and over again.
