Fanime 2011

(PST, Make sure you read down to the end, there’s some videos ! 😀 )

I hadn’t done an artist alley table since 2002, I’m not sure what possessed me to do it this year, but I had a really good time doing it with my friend Mandi! Huge thanks to those of you who came by to see me or buy my work, I really appreciate it.

On my way to set up artist alley on the first day I got stopped by this little Chocolat from Sugar Sugar Rune! I was really happy to see her, too, because fans of Sugar Sugar Rune (my favorite magical girl series) are pretty rare,… and she’s so cute, isn’t she? Her brother’s pretty awesome as Iron Man, too.

Here’s a photo, I’m assuming and-so-i-write took of me! 🙂

While sitting in AA, I saw a lot of RUFFIANS!

Also saw a lot of cosplayers from some of my favorite series!
I totally died when I saw this girl’s beautiful Tsukimi from Kuragehime (Jellyfish Princess). So creative and amazing! If you haven’t seen Kuragehime, you have no excuse, you can watch it online through Funimation and Hulu!

Also, go check out the awesome photos that Lydia took of the same cosplayer, over here!

Me fangirling over even more Kuragehime cosplayers! YESSSS. (You, GO, Mayaya!)

I saw one of the Bonbori and Hozuki twins from Otome Yōkai Zakuro! I thought this series was relatively obscure so I was so excited to see her and she’s such a beautiful kitsune cosplayer, too, isn’t she? Otome Yōkai Zakuro is a Meiji era shojo/mild-horror series about kitsune girls, it’s totally cute, and again, you have no excuse because you can watch it online here. Here’s an other shot of her on ACP.

I saw a lot of awesome Disney cosplayers and a lot of Flynns!

Thanks to Elizabeth S., for this photo!

This guy was great, he totally did the wind-up for his smolder.

And check out this awesome steampunky Jane from Tarzan! My photo doesn’t do her justice, her costume was gorgeous. (She was a walk-on in the masq, too.) Here’s another shot of her on ACP.

Look at these girls’ beautiful kimono coordinates!

And a HICCUP and Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon!

And I even saw a Tombo and Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service (one of my favorite Miyazaki films). I’ve actually NEVER seen a Tombo cosplayer before and I saw TWO this weekend!

It was fun, also, to see people’s reactions to Mandi’s mochi plushes.

A little chibi Sailor Moon sketch I did in one of the sketchbooks I sold at my table. 🙂

Me and Annie with stuff on our heads. 🙂
Katie gave me her Pascal (AAAH!) and Annie is from nemu-nemu

Pascal eyeing the lifeblood that Lauren let me partake of. (YAY, CAFFEINE)

On Sunday I dressed up in Chevalier with Mandi and we took some photos and met up with AJ, Judy and Marcus. 🙂

Marcus took this shot of us in Chevalier
A few more photos here.

Attacking Marcus

We also saw this AMAZING Azula from Avatar a couple times. Her embellishment was so gorgeous! (She had a great skit in the masquerade, too!) Here’s another shot of her by Lydia.

Fangirl shot of her embellishment.

Recreating (from memory) that silly DVD cover

AJ said I should stop waving my sword around, but I had no scabbard… so then I stuck it down my dress and this is what happened.

In some of the shots, you might see the crucifix that Dany and Darieum made and gave me! It’s so pretty! (thanks again you guys!)

I couldn’t spend as much time in the AA on Sunday since we were doing masquerade. Mandi basically asked me to join their Chevalier/Rose of Versailles group since I already had a Lia dress. It was fun cosplaying with new people, too!

Here’s the girls trying to detangle the “shojo sparkles” while waiting to rehearse.

Here’s ACP’s video of our masquerade skit.

And here’s another video of our skit on youtube!
(up already! how awesome is that!)

Most of the credit for the skit has to go to Mandi who’s idea it was, I was just along for the ride! 🙂

We won Best Craftsmanship in our division! Which was really something considering the competition this year! Hurray!
Here’s after-masq celebratory purikura

Ahhhh thanks so much for drawing that Sailor Moon in the sketchbook for me! It’s adorable x3

You are so gorgeous and so fabulous. I’m always inspired by you! <3

Wow, looks like you had a great time! I was REALLY happy to see some Kuragehime outfits (who knew it’d be such a hit?). And that kitsune girl from Otome Youkai Zakuro was FANTASTIC! Still, I can’t get over your detailed braid, was that thing heavy? XDDD

Hey there, this is the Mayaya! Your love for Kuragehime was just adorable, it was fun taking that pic with you. It was wonderful seeing so much love thrown at this series! <3
