Debut: Labyrinth of Jareth ball 2017
I’ve wanted to make a fancy fairy ball gown for many years and finally found time to do it this year! I was partially inspired by Firefly Path’s lovely gowns. I used out of print pattern S2857 for the bodice, S1551 for the sleeves and S8404 for the skirt (modified.) With the bodice I used slubbed silk and layered the beaded lace from the skirt with 3d flower fabric and silk flowers and iridescent round beads to mimic dew drops on flowers. I used spiral and steel boning in the bodice for more support. The skirt bottom layer is blue satin, the next layer is blue organza, the next is the purple beaded lace. On top of that I added 3 more layers of blue organza using the Belle S8404 layers as a guide. I added a small battery operated twinkle light set in blue into the organza layers. I then cut them in jagged petals and added round beads and silk flowers. The sleeves are blue organza.
The wing crown and fairy wings are made by JustAsStrangeAsIAm on Etsy.
