We had a great time at Fall Dapper Day at Disneyland! It was lovely to see so many lovely vintage inspired outfits and Disneybounds! We went for several days but Friday had the most people dressed up as it was the official main day.

I wanted something cute and easy to make for me and the twins so I decided to make “poodle” skirts with Disney themed designs. For me, I decided to do Beauty and the Beast, one of my all-time favorites. I love tea cups, so I thought it would be fun to do a Mrs. Potts, Chip and the other tea cups design. I wore this with my Beauty and the Beast bell jar necklace, the white Colette Patterns Jasmine shirt I made and Bass oxford shoes.

I let the twins pick out what color skirt and design they wanted for their poodle skirt outfits. They requested a yellow Finding Nemo skirt and a pink Rapunzel skirt.

For all our skirts, I used a felt Poodle skirt pattern for the skirts and cut the designs out of felt and applied them to the skirt with fabric glue. The Rapunzel and Nemo patches I bought off Etsy to save me overall crafting time. I made the Mrs. Potts and teacup felt appliqués myself. The girls loved their skirts with their favorite characters on them. I’ll probably do a tutorial video later so stay tuned for that!

In the meantime here’s some photos from our days! Sorry, I didn’t take many pictures that weekend of other peoples’ awesome Dapper outfits…! I should have! So many awesome outfits!

Here’s a video Michelle did about our trip:

My second outfit for another day was one of the Mary Blair dresses from PinupGirl Boutique! I’d been admiring this print for a long time and really enjoyed wearing it. I got the fascinator in downtown Los Angeles Santee Alley. The cardigan from Target and the shoes from Re-Mix Vintage.

I really enjoyed going with some friends to Dapper Day at Disneyland this year! Dapper Day is an unofficial Disney parks dress-up day inspired by roughly 50’s and 60’s vintage style. I’ll definitely go again. I had so much fun just looking at people’s outfits!

Dapper Day Sleeping Beauty and her prince! A lot of people did “Disney Bound” X Vintage style outfits, which was adorable. (Disney Bound being when you do an outfit inspired by a Disney character, but not a straight up costume.)

I wish I’d gotten a photo of the front of this group, I loved the girl with the pink pill box hat and her adorable cadet blue friend. There were so many gorgeous outfits that I couldn’t get photos of fast enough!

The coolest skirt ever. It’s Lady and the Tramp and she found it at Goodwill! I wish my Goodwill luck was like that!

Check out our Star Wars family costumes! We did Star Wars “A New Hope” Princess Leia, Han Solo and some twin baby ewoks! I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a kid so it was a lot of fun to finally make these costumes. I made my husband’s and my costumes. Han Solo’s gun belt was made by Brian for me. The ewok costumes were bought. More details later!

This is at Disney’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in Disneyland. It’s the one time of year that adults can wear costumes to the park! We really enjoy it.

I was a Guest of Honor at Fresno Ani-Jam this past weekend. I had a lovely time. All the staff and attendees were very friendly. I really liked the geek solidarity atmosphere of the convention. If you’re near the Fresno area, you should go! I had fun giving a panel on working in animation and dressing in lolita. Thanks for asking good questions, Ani-Jammers!

Here’s a few photos from our Ani-Jam trip.

For the first morning I wore a casual outfit inspired by Makoto (Sailor Jupiter) and wore my Kuma Craft Jupiter wand necklace.

Instead of eating in the hotel for every meal, since Annie and I had not been to Fresno before and we had a car, we found close restaurants on yelp and ate there as a little side adventure! This was gnocchi at an adorable Italian family restaurant.
