Some basic information on Glen Keane:
A supervising animator at WD Feature Animation, he graduated from Calarts in 1974. One of his first big animated scenes was on The Fox and the Hound, where he animated the raw power of the bear fight sequence. He survived the Bluth studio split following the Black Cauldron's bomb and since then he's worked at the studio (taking some time off to do some freelance work, study and some storybooks inbetween). His most well-known supervising credits include Ratigan (The Great Mouse Detective), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Marihute (sp?) (The Rescuers Down Under), Beast (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin (Aladdin), Pocahontas (Pocahontas),  and Tarzan (Tarzan)
In addition to his character animation work, Glen also has storyboarded out numerous scenes that made it into animation, including the big fall scene in The Rescuers Down Under where Marihute catches Cody, the scene in Pocahontas where John Smith and Pocahontas first meet as well as a large portion of the Colors of the Wind sequence and MANY sequences in Tarzan.

Many animators work out attitudes and motions for their next scene in small almost thumb-sized drawings, called thumbnail sketches. This way when they animate, they've already worked out the difficult problems and poses in the scene. These are several thumbnail sketches done by Glen before he started animating the "Part of Your World" scene in the Little Mermaid.
