FULL CHOICE SYSTEM
BASICS ABOUT FCS:
The Volks Full Choice System (FCS) is a way for you to custom order a doll especially for you. You choose every body part, eye, wig, and makeup style, etc... and Volks assembles the doll and paints it for you.
The only way to get FCS is to go to certain Volks doll stores in in Japan or to go to the new Volks store in Torrance, CA, USA. (note: the CA, USA will open Nov 20th, 2005.)
You must either go yourself, or ask a shopping service or friend to go there for you. Volks does not take international or online orders for FCS (ever!). To see the old discontinued FCS, go here: (OLD discontinued FCS INFORMATION)
TENSHI NO SATO EXCLUSIVES:
There are two current FCS systems. Tenshi No Sato, and NON-Tenshi No Sato. Tenshi No Sato (Volks most special store in Kyoto, Japan) has some exclusive things that you can't get at any of the other Volks stores. ONLY Tenshi No Sato has sunlight skin. Certain heads and wigs are only availalble at Tenshi No Sato as well. Usually the wait time for Tenshi No Sato FCS is longer as well. Both Tenshi No Sato and non-tenshi no sato are the same price.
Can I put a boy head on a girl body (or vice versa)?
Absolutely. You can put any head on any body with the FCS. However, please keep in mind that due to the difference in head sizes and neck sizes, some heads do look a little awkward on some bodies. For example, the SD13 boy body has a significantly thicker neck, and most standard girl heads look a bit small on it. And in reverse, the SD13 boy heads are larger than the girl heads, and may look top-heavy on the girl bodies. However, many people find that they are not bothered by this; it is really a matter of taste. If you are unsure, ask around, as you may be able to find someone to take pictures of the head/body combination that you want, to see if it looks alright to you or not.
Do they come with clothes?
No, FCS dolls come completely naked. If you would like your new doll to come with clothes, make sure you ask your shopping service about some clothes, and remember that it will cost you extra to buy them.
How long does it take?
FCS takes approximately one to 3 months from the date of ordering, depending on how busy Volks is. The wait time for Tenshi No Sumika LA, is usually at least 2 months. Volks will inform you when the doll is ready. Many people often state that the wait is one of the most torturous things about ordering a FCS doll, but they will usually quickly go on to say that the wait was worth it!
