I had a lovely time yesterday going to Huntington Gardens dressed in spring-themed 18th Century with some friends of mine! Each lady made her own dress. 🙂 We had tea and then strolled the gardens. The roses were in full bloom!
I just barely had time to finish my dress and hat (thanks to some help from Judy.) I’ll probably end up trimming it more later, but it still turned out pretty cute! 🙂 More details about my dress on my costume writeup page.
More pics later as I have time to edit the ones from my camera, but here’s some from me, Loren and Chantal. (You can also see more of Loren’s photos here)
Fitting six fancy ladies in Loren’s van.

Having delicious tea in Huntington’s rose garden.

The group of us! Doesn’t everyone look lovely with their pretty spring styles and colors?

My (mostly) finished dress and hat! More details about my dress on my costume writeup page.

I’ve wanted a polonaise for so long…!

Wonderful pics!
Thanks! 🙂
Gorgeous dresses! All tea parties should be this awesome 😀
Each and every one of you look smashing! What a lovely day and a memory to treasure.
Thanks so much!
Hi Aimee!
Did you have any problems visiting the Huntington in costume? I live in the area and go there all the time and have often considered having a costumed gathering for tea or just a stroll through the grounds but I have been weary. I know they have a pretty strict wedding photo policy, did they give you any issues?
Thanks,
Brandi
Brandi, They do have a strict costume/photoshoot policy. We found that calling them to say that we wanted to go have tea there as a costume club worked out fine. You need to make sure you aren’t doing costume changes in the location and that you aren’t bringing big cameras or reflectors, etc. Make sure you keep it casual and call ahead to make sure they are ok with it. We did not have any issues at this time that we went.
