DEBUT: Costume College 2013
I’ve wanted to make a late 30’s-40’s dress for a while. I decided on this 1945 reproduction pattern from Eva Dress. I had bought some barkcloth(?) Hawaiian fabric when we had visited Maui and I thought it was a perfect thing for this dress. Great to use something from my stash, too. The pattern went together very easily and I made pretty much the whole thing from muslin to finished dress in a day.
I got my hair cut in a long length 40’s hair cut from this 1940’s hairstyle book. My friend Vanessa taught me how to do my hair up in overnight soft hair curlers.
