Judy as a Bouncer Big Daddy, Charlene as the Spider Splicer Rose (bloody dark green dress, red hair), Cheryll as a Big Sister, A.J. as a Rumbler Big Daddy (white suit) and Melanie and Kim as Little Sisters.
My HCC girls really wanted to do Bioshock and I’m really into vintage fashion right now, so Sofia was a natural choice for me. I’m not really into making big robot-like suits, either and my work schedule didn’t allow for something super complex. Also, she’s pretty much exactly my height, and the scale worked well with our “Little Sisters”, etc. Sofia’s character also suited well for my role when we wore the costumes, as many of my fellow costumers were in unweildy suits and couldn’t see, so Sofia could make a good “handler”. I bought a real vintage pattern from the period to make the dress with and enjoyed seeing the different techniques that were used in the pattern.
Given her relatively simple character design, I actually really enjoyed cosplaying as her and was pleasantly surprised when some people knew who I was at SDCC even when I wasn’t with the big Bioshock suits.
I need to get some good shots of this costume, though, we really didn’t have time at SDCC.
